October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – it’s here to help us all to be more “breast aware”. Unfortunately breast cancer is still the most common cancer is the UK with nearly 46,000 people being diagnosed every year. By having a breast cancer awareness month, Breast Cancer Care hopes to keep people talking about this disease which affects so many people.
Being aware leads to early diagnosis, quicker treatment and better survival rates
By being aware, we can only hope that it helps both men and women to detect early warning signs, which can only lead to better results from treatment. Breast Cancer Care are a charity that helps thousands of people every year, they have a free helpline and website for those worried about breast cancer. They support people affected by the disease by bringing them together and providing them with information and support. They need to continue their amazing work and that’s where Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes in.
Many companies, retailers and individuals are getting involved in breast cancer awareness month. Check out some of the great products that are available on the high street. A personal favourite of mine is the Cadburys Flake that has turned pink for the month from Asda! In fact Asda are doing some fantastic stuff, ranging from beautiful lingerie to welly boots.

Swarovski are doing a limited edition rhodium plated pink pin with pink Swarovski crystal which is available in a black or white gift box – a great gift for a girl friend or relative.
